Bronwyn Rees at the CPM

I am always entering competitions in the hope of being seen, winning something, selling something. If the work is selected, it's something to put on the CV.

I've always had a proprietorial feeling about this one as it is held at the Tweed Regional Gallery and is near Brisbane. I used to visit whenever it was on and always knew lots of people who had entered. However, I never thought to enter myself until now. Why? I just didn't enter any competitions back then.

Anyway, here is a picture of my "Boxed Set", which is a set of eleven pamphlet books, all made from heavily overprinted etchings and relief prints. It was a huge amount of work, and there's only one. It's a mad way to work, but I really enjoyed making it, and felt a lot of satisfaction upon its completion.

  3. HI Bron,
Your work looks good - probably would of benefited from a close up or two.
Having seen these books in the flesh - the tactile quality is a sensational experience - not sure how this electronic medium could ever convey that experience.
I wish you well in the comp
    Best Regards
    Anthony
